Oh shit, these are the guys who fucked up Game of Thrones? There’s no way in hell I’m watching anything they make.
I mean, people really liked the first 4 seasons. There’s a chance they have more good TV in them, especially when adapting, and just weren’t ready to head a decades long tv show without burning out and losing perspective, right?

Good. Then nobody will have to hear you whine about it. But you’ll do it anyway, because it’s really important to be part of a tribe.
Hearing this makes me sad. Also, watching the trailer and seeing the Moonfall guy, oooof.
I liked the first book though.
I recently finished the trilogy and I’ve got to say… Even though this clip looks neat I’ve never had less faith in an adaptation of anything. Particularly with Benioff and Weiss at the helm.
Something that I feel no one talks about is the weird misogyny in the books… They were very creative books but they also had a LOT of misogyny baked into the plot and no one seems to point it out… Hope the netflix adaptation avoids that but I’m very skeptical.
You’re not doing it either. Might as well elaborate on your allegations or say nothing at all.
The most obvious is how the trisolianas quite literally feminize the human culture/population in an attempt to make humanity weaker. Also the whole plotline where they have to pick a new person to hold the button keeping the transmission of their planets location going out. They make a huge point of arguing a woman can not do it (because to push the button would mean both earth and trisolarios would be destroyed) but in the end the humans vote for a woman to do be the next person to hold the button, and then it turns out they were right and she is unwilling to push the button after the trisolans start invading the earth again. Literally right when she is voted in, they start invading. Also a lot of the female characters in the book like the main dude’s wife in the first book are not really fully fleshed out characters and are more just objects for the guy to try to possess/protect.
Its been a little while since I read the books but that’s the stuff I can think of off the top of my head.
Oh man, I am absolutely in love with the books. I’ve even had conversations regarding whether or not this would be a good book to adapt to a movie. The general consensus is that this one is best left as a book.
Just like Dune, but they keep trying.
I did like the first book… will be interesting to see if they actually “get” it at all. They sure didn’t seem to with GoT. Definitely not in the way Villeneuve seems to get sci-fi and be able to translate it well to screen.
Has anyone seen the Chinese TV adaptation of this, is it any good?
It’s amazing! A bit slow at times, but great actors and a fascinating story. And really nice visually, kinda cyberpunk at times. I haven’t read the books, but most people over on https://old.reddit.com/r/threebodyproblem/ were very positive as well
Sounds great, thanks. I’m going to check it out
