    The aspect ratio of that tire is quite substantial. I understand that’s desirable for off-road automobiles, but does the same apply here? A lot of volume inside the wheel could potentially be repurposed and filled with something that could reduce the board’s moment of intertia. I presume that’s a useful parameter for a self balancing craft, but idk.

      Wide + Flat does seem like a recipe for the most grip. There’s a larger tyre contact patch that way.

      Never ridden a one wheel though, and don’t really plan on it, so my intuition could completely be off

    They really built this on hard mode. There is a huge open source community making onewheels of various sizes using VESC software.

    I’ve seen one with a slightly smaller wheel but it seemed great
