How could anyone consider themselves a well-rounded adult without a basic understanding of silicate geochemistry? Silicates are everywhere! It’s hard to throw a rock without throwing one!
Much better. Thanks!
Yeah every time I ask people what non-D&D systems they play I get a rude wake-up call.
Being a forever GM I can subject my players to whatever system I want! Delta Green has become one of their favorites.
What qualifies as an “indie” RPG? Is that shorthand for “not D&D?”
More or less, call of cthulu and pathfinder are the only other ones that might count as mainstream.
But I’m probably falling in the same trap as this comic, my grandma knows about DNDs existence. No chance for anything else.

Of course!
You could probably also throw the fallout ttrpg in there since it has branding of the video game series behind it
Woo! I’m above average, blades, beam saber and several other forged in the dark offerings. (Only played one of them, as gm, still feel like I’m in an ice skating rink wearing roller blades when it comes to gm-ing)
Welllllp…now I feel like schmuck. All I know is like BESM(Big Eyes, Small Mouth) it’s an Anime based TTRPG system.
Besm is great! Beamsaber is giant robots, (think Gundam), Girl by Moonlight is new new, and has a few different anime inspired worlds. Both are blades in the dark like systems.
Most of my exposure has been through podcasts
Most of my best times playing ttrpgs was with the besm system.
Edit: BAD AUTOASSUME! IT’S BESM NOT BEAM!
I’ve heard of these. And played Lancer once.
I only know a couple. Unless you count the world of darkness games as a lot of games, but I don’t. But also unknown armies and don’t rest your head. And exalted, but I don’t know it well. And gurps, but I only played it once. And fate, of course. And Shadowrun I know of but never played. Still want to do Shadowrun in Fate. And then I’ve skimmed a bunch of d20 stuff, but if I never read another “roll 1d20 and you have six stats” that’s probably okay.
