    I love how they got a guy from ww2 who was fighting the red army and never considered “hmmm perhaps this guy fought for the nazis”

    The people who got vetted this guy and accepted him should be fired immediately

      You think they couldn’t Google what the Ukrainian first division is? No, they just thought it was more important to be anti-Russian than anti-Nazi.

        It might be possible the Speaker of the House or a person under him knew and genuinely thought this way, but the rest of parliament didn’t know and probably only realized who the guy was after the ovation. They just assumed he was like any of the other ww2 veterans that are brought to parliament and that he fought for the allies. It’s easy to just go through the motions when no one should expect something so stupid. Showing off the guy who helped execute Zelenskyy’s family members after having the Ukrainian leader give an address is unfathomably dumb.

        I think laziness is way more likely than someone knowing the truth and purposefully doing something that makes the Canadians seem like Nazis. Saying that this actually represents what Canadians believe is Russian imperialist bullshit.
