I made a community to share and discuss Hyperpop music, since the existing music communities have a focus more on Rock and Metal.

For anyone else not familiar with hyperpop:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperpop

Hyperpop is an electronic music movement and loosely defined microgenre that originated in the early 2010s in the United Kingdom. It is characterised by an exaggerated or maximalist take on popular music, and typically integrates pop and avant-garde sensibilities while drawing on elements commonly found in electronic, rock, hip hop, and dance music.

Here are some examples for the artists that I love. They’ve all made hyperpop but aren’t exclusively hyperpop artists.

100 gecs is probably the most well known, SugarCrash! (song, not artist) is one of the early big ones, Glaive also blew up through hyperpop.

My personal two favorites are brakence and underscores. For brakence, the whole hypochondriac album is, in my opinion, musically absolutely exceptional. Some people don’t like the lyrics but y’know, some people love it and some hate it.

For underscores, the above track is from fishmonger, which is her main hyperpoppy album, but my favorite of her stuff came after, with the album Wallsocket. Both of them have really unique music.

Sorry for the wall of text, you asked!

Used to love me some A G Cook, GFOTY, PC Music shit back in the early 2010’s. Never heard it called hyperpop however, always heard it called future pop. Either way hyper seems more fitting and I’ll definitely sub :D
