Man the “miracles” he “performed” to get beatified are so fucking thin its ridiculous even for the church. Some kids were supposedly cured of disease after their moms prayed to him. Like…thats it. No jesus image on toast, no statues weeping blood. Just some ladies say they prayed to this random kid and one touched his shirt and their kids happened to get better from some illnesses.

That’s 99% of saints. If someone prays to a random dead person to pull a favour with God and cure someone, and that someone does get cured, the person they prayed to can become a saint. Half as Interesting has a video on how it works.

Man, as someone who is not religious at all, some of these rituals are sooo weird to me.

Like making someone a saint not that long after their death. The concept of a saint itself is also weird to me. Its like an honorary degree from a university or an “employee of the month” badge.

I cant put my finger on it, to be honest. Just seems so weird

This is so stupid on so many levels. Catholic church must be getting desperate for new sheep.

Trying to stay relevant much? Humanity as a whole needs to realize that religion is a mental crutch. The community aspect of it is good, but it isn’t exclusive to religion.

    The meat of the story:

Candidates for sainthood require two distinct miracles attributed to them: Acutis was first beatified in 2020 after a Brazilian boy with a pancreatic defect was cured, following his mother’s prayers to Acutis to help her son. The second miracle involves the reported healing of a Costa Rican girl who suffered a serious head injury after falling off her bike in Florence: her mother prayed for the girl’s recovery at Acutis’ tomb in Assisi, and her daughter made a full recovery.

I wonder if maybe doctors and modern medicine had anything to do with these recoveries…

that’s a puzzle. it’s like a crossword or sudoku. we don’t consider those “gaming” just because they’re on a digital device.

yes, there are puzzle games. no, this is not that

am I out of touch here? is doing the crossword on paper being a gamer now?

In the game, “Fight of Gods”, you can literally play as Jesus to fight other mythological characters, including Santa.

Special attack: Ascension and Cross punch.
