OP is putting some spin on Merz’s words. Merz would never call this a genocide. However, he is admitting that calling it a legitimate response to the october attack is getting impossible for even the basest toadies. Germany has supported Israel in large part to appease the US. Since Trump is an erratic idiot without morals or loyalty, though, attempts to ingratiate oneself with him are wasted effort. As Trump continues to alienate the free world, we should see support for the murderous Netanyahu dry up.
