You think cops are smart enough to coordinate between departments? If ICE are out there in plainclothes, as seems to be in vogue, the police will just start magdumping.
It does seem particularly likely that two groups of armed, extremely narrow-minded, pathologically cowardly, and possessing extremely fragile masculinity might come into conflict quite easily. I’m with you I say that’s the appropriate option. It’s not going to work every time, or even most of the time, but just once would be awesome.
You don’t tell the 911 operator that it’s ICE. You tell them that it’s unidentified thugs.
So the 911 operator can send those thugs a bunch of backup that’s both prepared for and looking forward to violence…
