I love how they put Ark as the highlight here when pretty much everyone, including myself, is way more excited for Balatro.

Wasn’t ark a free game before? Balatro will be a boon for many. It’s great. I’ve only played on mobile, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it differs on a different play format.

From Wikipedia, Ark: Survival Ascended is a remaster of the 2015 game Ark: Survival Evolved. It has been in early access since 2023.

Ah, so a new old game that has and hasn’t been free before. Great value. I’m sure but fans are happy.

I am sure fans have already played it. I am personally not a fan of these games, but wouldn’t mind giving it a try for an hour or so to see what I am missing, who knows, maybe I end up liking it.

Like so many other ps+ games. I find I’m rarely wrong and don’t enjoy the ones I expect not to.

Heh, I agree with you, but there are some genre and franchises I have stayed away from, so it’s sometimes a good way to try them without spending money. At worst, you have confirmation that it’s not for you and can ignore them without any worries in the future, and sometimes your are pleasantly surprised.

Yes, I do dip my toes too. Sometimes even if it’s not for me, it’s good to see if I like the genre as a another game that interests me in that genre might or might not be worth it.

I actually upgraded to deluxe before the price rise as one game on it I planned to purchase and the cost was the same. The trials are a nice idea but a bit of a waste. An hour in a game these days is mainly tutorial.

I went the opposite way, started with Premium, then downgraded to Extra, and when the price increased, downgraded to Essential.

With how much I play, Extra doesn’t seem like worth it anymore. Essential is still good cause I have a previous backlog, and get enough games throughout the year that keeps it worth the price. Not to mention occasionally want to play a multi-player game and it requires PS+.

Balatro is awesome. I’m excited to play Boltgun, which I held out on buying until the price dropped but I’ll absolutely take it for free! Couldn’t care less about Ark. 2/3 decent games isn’t bad, gotta be one the of the best free game months in a long time.

I’ve had Balatro on a trial of Apple Arcade for the last couple months and enjoyed it - though I feel like I hit a wall not knowing how to improve my score. That trial is due to end next week, so this PS+ announcement has come at the right time! Unfortunately it doesn’t look like there’s a way to transfer my save.
