    They’ll get their out of context and misleading soundbites from the right wind media overlords, which will only reinforce their blind faith in their lord and savior trump.

      Oh that’s a good point though.

      On one hand the media won’t be able to resist actually covering the trial but on the other hand if they do that they’ll be informing their viewership, and that can’t happen.

      Yes, but those people were never going to be convinced anyway. But I think there’s still a group of people for which seeing the proceedings live, and that they are conducted fairly, will be important. For example, I think this could influence Republican politicians to take pause in continuing to support him publicly. They care more about personal vanity than any sense of loyalty, and they aren’t all going to send themselves down with the ship.
