With how many posts you’ve made to this sublemmy, I can’t imagine you’re lacking for meaningful notifications now!

    Sending big hugs!

I find the more I remove myself from corporate, money driven social media the less this happens. May not be the answer for everyone, but it’s been working for me.

I aggressively block those notifications, or remove the app. If they can’t respect my boundaries, they aren’t worth my time.

It’s why I don’t use discord. I popped back in due to it being used for a project I’m interested in but I’ll be gone again once it’s over. Web version > desktop app any day.

There’s something called Webcord, which is essentially a wrapper around the web version, with the added bonus of blocking various trackers and whatnot, so a bit more private.

I’m looking forward to when people abandon Discord. I’m so sick of the platform.

That’s me with Wattpad right now. I barely ever am on there anymore, so I only ever get their official ad messages that I can’t block when I go into the app.

Funnily enough, I opened the app earlier and there was a message reminding me that I can change in-app notifications. Didn’t realize that was a thing because I haven’t gone into settings for a while. But I definitely wasn’t giving them push notification access, though.
