I am unaware of these things you buy to maintain minimalism. Maybe I can pick some up second hand at a garage/estate sale.
Head on down to the container store, a store that is just (expensive) plastic boxes, so you can fill the one room you don’t show anyone with storage to load it up with all the shit you own and don’t display out of shame
But really minimalism is rich person shit. Minimalism is for people who can afford a house with several rooms and to furnish entire rooms or entire homes even in one go.
Poor and middle class people end up with maximalism. It’s hard not to when your design is I’m gonna buy a cheap couch that’s not really what I wanted but overall okay, then a chair 18 months later that design trends changed in the interim, then a table 6 months later, then 3 years later I replace the couch I had with an even worse couch because it broke (fuck you ikea) and I had to replace it somewhat urgently and my budget was very weak, etc.
or they have fallen deeply for the consumerist trap and they have the wall of funko pops. But that’s their own fault. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go put on one of my hundreds of vinyl records, which is totally different and doesn’t make me a hypocrite at all

Im going to take some context clues and assume that is an author for some kind a minimalist movement. I don’t actually know what movement may be round that word but I use that word (which you know just because someone rights a book or blogs about it or makes youtube videos. it does not make them end all and be all for use of the term) because I am disillusioned with the corptocracy we have become and am trying to not engage with it as much as possible. Then also my mom was a hoarder and I want to be as opposite of that as possible. Then I also like things that make sense to me and make my life easier. Like over ten years ago I bought one of those outdoor patio sets. Thats my couch and coffee table now. The chairs did die and I had to dispose of them unfortunately but the couch and table are holding up like champs. They were cheap, are easy to maintain, and super easy to move to vaccum or sweep under. This to me is what minimalism about to me. simplify in a way that makes life cheaper and easier. granted that is not anti coporate example but I did buy it long ago. just got a blender from the 60’s in good condition from an estate sale though. solid glass for the liquid and oof its amazing how heavy the mechanical part is.
