A very recent Knowledge fight episode deals with Steven Crowders deposition in the Allen Mass shooting case. Crowder misidentified the shooter as a different Mauricio Garcia, showing the wrong picture, who sued him for defamation.

The main takeaway is - Steven Crowder is not very smart, one might say he is really dumb, not in a derogatory way, it’s just an observation, but he fails to grasp some basic concepts.

For example - the photo Crowder showed of the alleged shooter was a mugshot. The plaintiffs lawyer asks him - “it was reported, that the shooter had no prior convictions or arrests and he died at the scene of the shooting, meaning there could not have been a booking photo of him, so the photo you had, must’ve been the wrong photo, correct?”

Despite the lawyer walking him through that question multiple times, step by step, he does not understand the question.

He also tries his “debate me, bro” techniques multiple times and always walks into a wall with that, it’s embarrassing. Like after the first couple of times you should realize this shit flies if you debate college students on a campus, but not with a lawyer, who not only does this shit for a living, but has prepared himself for weeks if not months for this session, but nope, Crowder keeps on trying his bullshit.

I highly recommend the episode, knowledge fight “Formulaic Objections part 18”. All the Formulaic Objections episodes are great, especially #3, Roger stone, is hilarious.

Man, that was a great episode

The deposition confirmed beyond all doubt (again) that crowder (and, one can assume all of the rightoid idiot entertainers - including ol’ Benny ‘Dry Ass Pussy’ Shaps) only sounds smart because they’re going after kids with minimal debate skills. Any time they have to actually be smart (like trying to lie to a lawyer about what you do or don’t know, or thinking you’re so fucking clever using babbys first logical trick) their opponent runs circles around them without breaking a sweat.

So many times Bankston would ask a question, Stevie would respond, and mid response I was already asking follow questions that Bankston got to not long after. And oh my gods was it painful to hear him have to explain basic grammar concepts to Stevie…

Have you seen the interview ol’ Benny did with Andrew Neil from the BBC ?

It’s great, my favorite moment is - Benny “Why don’t you just admit, that you’re on the left?” - Andrew Neil, laughing :“Mr Shapiro, if you only knew how ridiculous that statement is, you wouldn’t have said it.”

Yeah, I love watching him melt down as he realizes his normal tactics are worthless against a professional. Also, the lame face saving projection that Neil struggles to not laugh off and Benny sputters at is just *chefs kiss*

But I have to say, I don’t think Ben is stupid, at least not in the same way stupid as Stevie is. Ben knows what he is doing, Steven doesn’t even seem to understand that. Like Ben Shapiro in a deposition would probably be more like the Paul Joseph Watson one.

Actually I think of all the depositions, Crowder is the stupidest of the bunch, they all walk into traps and give up way too much information on their own volition but at least most of the time they realize it? Sometimes you can almost hear them thinking ‘fuck, walked right into it’, Crowder doesn’t even understand what’s happening.

Honestly all of the depositions are super interesting, seeing those characters outside their comfort zone is a) very revealing and b) soooo satisfying. With the exception of dr David Jones none of them know when to just shut the fuck up.

Like Jordan says - if I am ever being questioned in a deposition 99% of my answers would be ‘yes’, ‘no’ or ‘I don’t know’ - it’s not that complicated.
