Summary

DOGE announced on Monday the cancellation of several government contracts, claiming total savings of $16 billion.

However, nearly half of this amount was attributed to an $8 billion contract for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that, upon review, was actually valued at $8 million.

Additionally, a larger reported savings figure of $55 billion lacked detailed documentation.

The ICE contract in question, with D&G Support Services, was intended to provide program and technical support for ICE’s Office of Diversity and Civil Rights.

What’s the difference between 8 billion dollars and 8 million dollars?

    Approximately 8 billion dollars.

If you have 1 million seconds to live that about 11 days. If you have 1 billion seconds to live it’s about 33 years

That’s how they’re snookering people, because most don’t understand the size of these numbers. So its sounds like a lot even when they save a billion here and there but when we’re talking federal budget even that is basically nothing.

DOGE is not meant to cut spending. It is to systemically root out opposition within the executive branch and promote the business interests of Trump, Musk, and their cadre.

This is a distraction to keep you occupied while they do something far worse.

And to be clear: they have access to the Treasury systems. That “something far worse” is a literal robbery - this is a classic smash and grab.

You don’t understand. They’re calling it $8 billion because that’s how much it will take in four years to fix the problem cancelling the contract causes.

Good job guys! $8mil for a complete loss of soft power around the world and undue stress, pain and misery for all those you fired and stopped aid to. Congrats for being total pieces of human skinned garbage!

I saved so much money by cutting the gas, power, and water to my house! Can you believe the scam the previous owners were running by “paying utilities”?

Elon Musk has lied about the output of his companies since his very first company, zip2

He does it because no one holds him fucking accountable.

Yeah, I’m not surprised based on some of my interactions with purported “business geniuses”, but it is quite sad just how utterly stupid people are that manage to have wealth and get taken in by a mere show of unearned confidence.

Can they fire all of the CIA assassins soon? Can they be sure to do it in a way that makes them feel disgruntled?

Coup 101, keep your cops happy. This is why firing the nuclear cops was a bad idea and they tried reversing it immediately.

They’ll be needed to shoot protesters domestic terrorists once things get even more desperate in Trump’s third term.

But they will fix the mistake as soon as they know about them… or something like that
