    You can count to 12 on one hand if you point your thumb to the bones on your other four fingers.

      24 if you first do it with the knuckle of your thumb and switch to the tip after you’ve done every finger bone

        Twice as many if you do it twice

        Brother I can count to 100 on one hand if I keep switching the counting apparatus, but the point is that there are 12 distinct sections on the fingers.

        Bonus points: this is part of the reason there was once a debate about swapping to base 12 instead of 10

      Up to 31 in binary (1023 on both hands), but one may say it isn’t very handy.
