My variation on Bibimbap.
Fried mushrooms/tofu/bell pepper/onions, basmati rice, kimchi. Topped with green onion, sesame seeds and crushed chilli flakes.
The sauce is a mix of soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin sauce and a potent hot sauce. Mixed with more sesame and chilli.
Usually I season the tofu in that sauce before frying it, but I was tired and hungry.
That looks amazing! Have you tried topping it with furikake?
Never heard of it before. Seems to contain nori, which I am not the biggest fan of. Is the nori essential?
Yeah, it definitely has that seawater taste from the nori. Definitely not for everyone but I love adding it to Asian-style dishes!
