I am male. When woke went down I went around and labeled all of the bathrooms in my house M, for “me.” No genders, no pronouns, no bullshit. Just regular human shit. And urine. And sometimes a place for my friend to get dressed and do her makeup if she doesn’t have time to stop at home or something.

I had a feeling this would happen, so I ran it by a couple of my trans friends. One responded (the one I mentioned is likely busy with her one year old and has not yet):

I was hoping “M is for me” (a pronoun) followed directly by “no pronouns” would be enough, and “letting a friend (who is definitely not “me”) get changed and put on her makeup” would drive it home.

It did not. That’s on me. I’m fully aware of Poe’s Law and rolled the dice. If anyone is truly offended, I apologize. The friend I’m talking about occasionally used my place to change so she could be herself in private after having to deal with work etc. Hell, a lot of the selfies she shared had my shower curtain as the backdrop lol. Probably too much of an inside joke. Hindsight being 20/20 and all.

If a mod wants to nuke it, I get it. I’m going to leave it. People can make of it what they will.

            Humor is definitely subjective lol.

Humor in print is even harder to pull off for damn sure. Gods know I fail plenty.

I think why this one failed is that the structure is just too close to the kind of “jokes” attempted by bigots. Leading off with the part about “when woke went down” is, imo, the section that most makes it read other than as you intended.

Which does answer my question! While I did phrase it aggressively, it was also a genuine question. Thank you for responding with a genuine answer. The way the joke read, I was honestly expecting someone trying to justify a bit of attempted ridicule with the “just a joke bro” kind of thing.

Still don’t think it works as a joke, but that is absolutely subjective. Again, thank you for clarifying.

im trans and thought it was funny.

its the risk of online sarcasm, it can easily be missed and taken at face value which makes it even funnier.

blahaj.zone has very strict enforcement of noninclusive language and statements. as much as I personally appreciate this brand of humor, its probably unwise to post similar comments on this instance

Unsolicited advice alert (I’m sorry; I can’t contain myself)

Personally, I knew it was satire, but it kind of swerved towards me thinking “is this for real?” a little bit since it didn’t go super over the top. I think it’d be really fun to go ham and just start rambling about some irrelevant shit (and use tons of exclamation marks!!!)

You are female, stop pretending you’re male. If you still think you are male, leave your name and address for the police to pick you up.

Now I’ve heard recently that Trump has made it tacitly legal to just poop and smear it on the government building walls.

No need for indoor bathrooms at all in Washington DC (or at Maralago).
