That’s very interesting. It did change my view of dansup.edit: just like the comments said, most points seem to be exaggerated and mostly bs upon a closer look.
My personal view on this is Dansup absolutely suffers from the instinct of not open sourcing stuff until it’s fairly late in the stage of being an MVP, but I think that’s largely because he’s learning these technologies as he goes and is afraid of criticism on that front. Personally, however, I do not think it is the case that he does not believe in the Open Source project. I also trust him when he says he’s working towards a nonprofit to distribute the load. It seems his first steps are to get funding via kickstarter to quit his job, and then I imagine organizing a nonprofit structure is next.
As the author said in the website, saying a platform is open source when you haven’t even released the source is nothing but wrong. And that is not the only thing he has done it seems.
I personally can’t take his apologies seriously after his cocky harassments.Many of the points are bullshit and that’s without even having any context, it’s evident from the posts themselves.
Like the part where he allegedly “threatened legal action” - all he was saying is that outside fedi/oss that would mean a legal action, sounds like pointing out the advantages of oss/fedi, not threatening a legal action.
Can someone highlight the salient points from all that? What’s his deal?
