But It was visually awesome. If they would have described that in the book it would have seemed corny and off-putting. I think they adapted the movies pretty well. I almost would have liked to see Tom bombadil in some form, At the same time he was far too … everything to put in the movie
Treebeard did get some of Tom Bombadil’s role, for example rescuing Merry and Pippin from being swallowed by roots.
