Interesting figure that comes out of the article: 87% of US teens prefer iPhones. Also the explanations given aren’t quite surprising, I guess it’s mostly because of iMessage. Teens will feel like outcasts if they get an Android phone while their friends still use iMessage because of the green bubbles.
It’s actually hilarious how we allowed consumerism to take us this far and that we have now peer pressure over smartphones.
“You’re telling me in 2023, you still have a ’Droid? […] You gotta be at least 50 years old.”
ouch 😔
I saw a young American tech YouTuber, he would get an old iphone SE as a backup phone just so he could use iMessage with his friends. I’m not judging though, i think iPhones are nice devices just very limited.
I hate iPhones, teaches people to be slaves to their surroundings
LOL
That Could mean anything, my inturpritation of what you said is “slaves to wherever way the wind blows them.” Feel free to correct me.
Yes, I mean that wherever they go they feel like they have no power over that environment, not even being able to form the idea that the environment could be different or better. Accepting rules/authority without even considering to question it
I know that feeling all too well, and im aware theres somthing brighter on the other side.
It’s nuts to me that teens use iMessage and not something secure they can hide from their parents.
