Yeah. When people complain that the media is dead or that the narrative is controlled regardless of sources, they usually talk about the mainstream/corporate media. They don’t go their way to find alternative or “underground” sources shall we say.
Yeah I wouldn’t call any of these sites underground. If we dont know about them, blame Lemmy users and mods.
I mean, if you ask most people, they wouldn’t know what Democracy Now or Pro Public are unlike MSNBC, CNN or New York Times. These news outlets rarely get more coverage or mentions because it is by intention.
Again, if that’s the case then we have nobody to blame but ourselves. We’re on a link sharing site ffs. We post the links and we make the rules for which sites are allowed.
I do my part to report people who just post screenshots of articles and downvoting links to corporate news sites with pro-corporate narratives, but we all must do our part. And the mods need to do their job too.

Law/justice is also dead, especially as folks stop believing in any piece of state evidence.

Yes breaking the law is a “crime” but to be a criminal you need to have the verdict saying you committed it. Innocent until proven and all. A “not guilty” or null result means not a criminal.
If Biden and Trump can decide the law does not apply to certain people, then so can you.
The law only applies where and when it is enforced.

For someone to be labeled a criminal they must have been convicted in a court of law by their peers and all avenues of appeals have been exhausted. This is the only situation where the word criminal can be used by anyone besides paid liers and illusionists.
No it’s a poor journalistic standard to cast guilt before trial. If some random person was saying it who cares. This is a large public facing news entity though.

I used to read it a lot because it had good arts and literary sections back when actual papers were a thing. Reading the Sunday Times with a cup of coffee on Sunday in my bathrobe was a pleasure. Now they just specialize in these garbage takes.
Top recommended on my feed was NYT article headlined “largest immigration surge in US History” under Biden. That was their top number one story today. Suggested both that it was a key factor in Harris loss and that it has already ended because of Trump election
