Yes you’re so smart. We should have done anything you say and also fuck Democrats because voters aren’t responsible for anything ever

The Democrats ran on an uninspiring platform, and then wondered why the voting base was uninspired.

And I didn’t realize “listen to your constituents” was the same as “do anything I say and also fuck you.”

Throws your tantrum all you want, the Dems didn’t get the votes they needed, and it’s their lackluster campaigning that lost them the election.

The voters don’t owe candidates shit, especially when they’re being promised four more years of Biden, but a pinch more progressive.

Harris, with Democrats down ballot. My state also went for Harris, but we’re not one of the ones that matters.

As a trans woman, I don’t have the luxury of voting my conscience and begrudgingly voted Harris despite her lackluster policies and genocide support.

At the same time, I don’t blame anyone who couldn’t vote for her and chose to abstain or vote third party, because the Democrats didn’t win their vote. The Democrats aren’t entitled to someone’s vote just because the opponent is a fascist, and maybe if they stopped acting like they deserve every election for simply not being a Republican and actually put forth progressive policies, they’d win.

Voters will get what they voted for, whether they intended it or not. It’s the bedrock fundamental of political reality. A party can meet them where they are, convince them to come over to the leadership position, or lose. Those are the options

They’re not all garbage. But they are selfish and short-sighted. Our garbage culture is the problem. Our worship of money and disdain for the poor.

Yeah I’m just done with having empathy for people that hate knowledge and care only for themselves. 2016 killed 90% of that in me, last night killed it the rest of the way.

I understand your rage. I feel it too. And deep sadness. I live in one of the reddest states in the US. I don’t know what to do. I finally had all my ducks in a row to take out a loan and buy a house for my wife, her mom, and I to live in. Now I want to flee the country. But my wife’s mom is elderly and will not leave. So my wife will not leave. So I will not leave. I’m going to buy a rifle to complement my other firearms and get my wife a pistol and shooting classes.

I wish you well through this. It’s hard to see any upside at all, at least within our lifetimes. I hope you’re able to avoid a maximal amount of fallout from it. I was hoping to retire early but that was contingent on investments growing stably. I don’t think economic stability is in the cards for us. I know that would’ve been a huge privilege. But not even those who are marginally well off can escape all the consequences of the curb stomping America just received. Those less fortunate will suffer immeasurably. Imagine if we have another pandemic. I don’t think Trump learns lessons unless it means more money or power for him. America just taught him he can commit piles of crimes and let thousands of people die, and he will still receive fame, fortune, power, and adoration. It’s hard to understand how fucked up our voters’ perceptions are. It might be studied like we do with the Roman empire. Maybe next time humanity can actually learn from it.
