    Is there a single page timeline of all these changes?

    Like they started building mega tanks but then realized it wasn’t working out because land mines would cripple them.

      Actually, the mega-tank projects that they undertook were mostly abandoned because:

      A. They were so heavy they literally sank into the ground

      and/or

      B. They were so slow they were sitting ducks for artillery

      Up-armoring the tracks was one of the great innovations of tanks, and it took ad-hoc explosives rigged up as the first specialized anti-tank mines to get through to them.
