(Reminder, this thread can and will contain spoilers for possibly any show. Spoiler tags are not required in here, but if the show just happened try and keep spoiler talk it to its respective discussion thread for the first day).
Is there a reason some spoiler threads are getting marked NSFW while others aren’t? I had NSFW content turned off so I missed a couple. It’s not that big of a deal, I’ll just have to remember to turn it back off if I’m scrolling in public.
Some of the mobile Lemmy clients, depending on user settings and viewing configurations, end up showing Twitter (and YT iirc) thumbnails on the posts even before you open them and a few users have gotten inadvertently spoiled on things as a result over the months and rightfully complained.
As such, if I post any Twitter or YT link where there’ll be an obvious thumbnail spoiler it gets marked NSFW which is supposed to obfuscate said thumbnail on the mobile clients as a default.
One of those things I wish there was a different setting for but probably too awkward to code and have it work smoothly lol.
That makes sense. I’d think it wouldn’t be that hard to program in an extra spoiler tag, but I also barely passed the one programing class I took 20+ years ago, so I’m fully aware my thoughts are meaningless.

Making old school text based rpgs in class was amazing.
I honestly remember more about the dirt bike game I played in the back of the class than I do about what version of BASIC we used.

Been meaning to ask, how is the experience on Bluesky? I abandoned all hope for twitter long before Moron Musk bought it.
I’m enjoying it. In 3-4mo on BS I’ve gotten more interaction than 16mo on Mastodon and however many years I was on Twitter. Everyone seems pretty peaceful and friendly. The pieces of shit have already begun migrating too (like that Catturd cunt for example) but everyones been sharing block lists for MAGA, cryptobros, and other problematic shite so its very easy to shut em out quickly. I have not even found an argument unless I went looking for them lol.
As for the technical side, there’s minimal algorithm and 99% of your time is browsing feeds (populated by keywords, hashtags or specific emoji’s) so you’re looking at the people talking about your chosen interest or the people you’re specifically following instead of what “they” are wanting you to look at.
The wrestling community is also pretty big there and growing rapidly. SRS and Fightful are active there the last 2ish weeks, AEW posts there, TNA seems to be starting up again, plus a dozen or so other people in the business (artists, and the like).

That alone is reason enough for me to make an account.

I’ve been considering it, but it also feels like it’ll quickly become a pain to maintain and update as more people come or go or change, so my considerations have not been enthusiastic lmao. Not opposed to one tho.
At the very least I do think we could stand to add something into our sidebar about BS, like a section with lists to the wrestling feeds perhaps, or as promotions/dirt sheets/etc join add in a Bluesky url beside the existing ones or some other idea.
I was just thinking a “starter list” of wrestlers on the platform, pin it for a week, and just leave it at that. Anyone that wants to stick with blue ski* after a week or so should be able to find other wrestlers as they join pretty easily. Hell, I found you within seconds after following SRS and I have yet to use the search feature.

The discoverability really is fan-fucking-tastic isn’t it? Like I woke up this morning to 90+ notifications from Bluesky, that’s more than I’d get from Facebook, Fetlife, Mastodon and a few other places combined lmao.
Also I’ll have to find it but I think 1-2 people actually have a starter park of wrestlers/wrestling personalities made so that’d cut down having to copy and paste a million people lol.

Millions more of them than last time. Not only did her vote totals go down compared to Biden, she lost minority voters, how the fuck does that happen? He won(most likely) the popular vote, first Republican since W in 2004 to do it. I’m still taking my damn Harris-Walz can koozie to Thanksgiving just for the fun of it, maybe it’ll start a fight and I can take my ass home before the parade is even over.
