You know what, I’ve never actually read The Wind in the Willows, but I hear it’s delightful.
If you want to make a book club, I’d join. Otherwise, I’ll check back in (if I remember) with what I thought
I am firmly in the camp that it’s only considered a children’s book due to the simplistic writing, but otherwise the story is deeply affecting for adults.
I would have given anything to paddle down the Thames with Water Rat and Mole, having picnics in the meadows, and generally leading a relaxed and happy life.
It’s definitely a “stop glorifying the grind and start glorifying whatever the fuck this is” type deal.
