Piccione alla leccarda from Trattoria La Palomba in Orvieto, Italy
Pigeon in sauce made of garlic, rosemary, sage, onion, black olives, red wine, vinegar, oil, salt and pepper
This restaurant is in the 2024 Michelin Guide Italy. Recommend stopping here if you’re visiting Orvieto and want to try something different!
So do they just put the whole pigeon in a blender until it’s puréed?
Nah the pigeon is cooked in a pan along with this really thick and savory herbal sauce
I was hoping for a pigeon smoothie.
😂 Trust me it tastes nothing like it looks!
Chef looked at shit on a shingle and said they could make it shittier.
Looks like chicken mole. Hope to try it sometime (maybe at a more simple restaurant).
For something as common as “poultry in sauce” it sure looks like an industrial accident.
“Mphhuhuhuhu, go on, eat it. It’s a traditional dish here.”
Shitty foodporn.
Is this a before or after shot?

Tried pigeon in Chicago’s Chinatown. It was the gamiest thing I have ever tasted. I normally like gamiey meat but this was too much.
Had cuy (Guinea pig) in Peru; another hard pass
Waiter, why did someone splatter diarrhea all over my dish?
Pigeon is pretty good, only had it once though.
You shouldn’t eat rock doves they are very dirty birds and you can get pretty sick.
