Bonus panel: Moon enters with shit-eating grin.
I’m Spanish all the days of the week are named after the planets, the moon and the Sun
I mean in English it’s
Sun
Moon
Tyr (Mars)
Odin (Mercury)
Thor (Jupiter)
Freya (No roman counterpart, arguably occupies the same function as Venus)
Saturn
I knew English names were the Nordic gods but I didn’t now they equated to the Roman gods/planets. TIL
people starting the week with sunday will never cease to inflict psychic damage
Saturn is also how we get Saturday in English.
Wednesday comes from Woden’s Day, an alternative spelling of Odin’s Day.
Which leads us to Thor’s Day: Thursday.
I don’t know where we get from Mars to Tuesday and Venus to Friday though.
Tuesday and Friday are named for Tyr and Frigg, respectively.
Oh TYVM!
Tuesday is named after Týr (‘Týr’s day’), rather than Mars, in English and other Germanic languages
– https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Týr
The English weekday name Friday (ultimately meaning ‘Frigg’s Day’) bears her name.
I can’t get over how cute the artist does the sun’s smirk
He also has some nice, catchy songs on his YouTube channel.
Isn’t Earth Day the day when technically all of earths renewable resources for the year are used up, as a symbol of how unsustainable or consumption is?
That’s called Earth Overshoot Day, Earth Day is always on April 21
