They don’t understand irony. Or civility. Or empathy.

But we can definitely all agree they are weird.

It’s not that they don’t understand; that’s too excusing/gives them too much credit. It’s that they deliberately do not care, and see “discourse” solely as a fight to be won by any means necessary, including blatant bad faith.

100% agree with this. Just started reading Black Pill by Elle Reeve and it says much the same

He was tweeting about Harris saying “thank you” too much to a massive and incredibly excited crowd. He’s jealous.

This is literally the case. He can’t stop talking about crowd sizes… Like seriously, he is actually jealous lol. He’s such a dumb simp.

I used to think it was purely ego, but recently another thought has occurred.

He has to attack the crowd sizes because it shows how many Americans are out there to vote for her. In the places that most of his voters live, they’re surrounded by other Trumpets, and they put up lots of signs and are super loud about it. Which creates the illusion that nobody is voting for the Dems. This makes the claims that the election is rigged or stolen more credible to his followers. I hear it from my local trumpets all the time; “Nobody I know voted for Biden”, implying it had to be stolen.

So if there is all this coverage of how big her crowds are, it creates more cognitive dissonance for (at least some of) his followers.

But it also could just be his narcissism and ego. I don’t really know.

Lol, when I was watching it I was thinking it was funny how many times she said thank you. I just rewatched and counted 27 thank you’s. And quite a few good evenings. The crowd wouldn’t take the hint so she had to keep saying it till the simmered down.

That has to be the loudest crowd she’s ever had to settle down. She’ll likely eventually learn what the Obama’s learned. Eventually you just need to start talking and people will stop clapping because they’re excited to hear what you have to say.

Man, what a problem to have. I’m blown away by how Harris has energised this race. I couldn’t have imagined this just a few weeks ago. Respect to Biden for stepping down — he maybe should have done it sooner, but it seems like it was the right thing to do, and it couldn’t have been easy.

I don’t think they deliberately timed it, but waiting until after the Repub convention has pissed off all the Repubs, so that seems alright after all.
