My block list is quickly filling up with communities that I don’t have anything against, I just don’t speak the language. Does such a setting already exist? If not, are there any plans to add one?

If such setting is implemented, please don’t limit it to a single language. Many people knows multiple ones while still wanting to filter out all the other languages they are not familiar with.

if you select undetermined and your primary language together in the account settings it will remove any posts with different languages selected but some posts still marked undetermined will make it through. hold control and click to select multiple entries

The language settings are a bit messed up and because of the way the front-end is done, it doesn’t default to anything but undetermined. Hopefully someone fixes things, because there’s some massive non-English communities that don’t get enough love.

A setting to translate posts/comments to your language would be nicer. I really dislike the fragmentation of the web by languages. The internet was supposed to connect the world not place us into different silos seperated languages and algorithms.

We can have a privacy preserving translator that can auto translate to your language with a button/alert to see the original language version

Change your language settings in your preferences. It will only show posts and comments in the languages you have selected.

Where it gets tricky is that many people post without using a language tag to say what language they’re posting in. You can choose whether to view untagged comments and posts or not, but you can’t filter it by language if the poster hasn’t set a tag
