Inside the hornet’s nest that is his brain:

Should I eat a baby on live television? I could advocate for cannibalism AND White Nationalism

Josh “Hawlin’ Ass” Hawley should know a thing or two about xtian nationalism, since he was hightailing it out of there when some xtian nationalism came to the Capitol and he thought HIS ass might be on the line…

To be fair. He seems to be wearing makeup and the MAGA idiots might confuse that for something… objectionable.

They haven’t quite realized Da Orange Fuhrer wears make up too.

What he’s advocating for is against everything this nation stands for, and the Constitution. If he wants some bible-based government, he has other options he can pick from and move there. And leave all of us that love America and love freedom the hell alone with that “xtian America” stuff.

But isn’t this just democracy in action? The mandate of the people? If a majority vote for these principles then it must become the law of land.

The fact of the matter is that the fanatical Christians want results more than the left does. While we’re on here, uselessly upvoting and downvoting, they’re organizing their communities to achieve real world results. And except for a few notable characters, they’re playing by the rules of the game.

Well, they’d have to have a constitutional amendment to remove separation of church and state for one thing. For another, the view that xtianity is something that needs to be inflicted on others is a minority view. Even if it was a majority one, there are laws to protect the minority view on things like this, since we have freedom of and freedom from religion.

So he advocates having terrible ideas, being an awful person, and being a terrorist that is threatening the fabric of what it means to be American?

That is strangely on point for being a republican.

    God’s delegation of governance

Hawley is a US Senator and got his job by winning an election. The use of this phrase suggests something very dark to me. This phrase is rooted in the belief that all authority comes from God based on Romans 13 and that everyone should submit to government because God has granted those in governance authority. Resisting the government is essentially a sin and you will be judged for it.

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. (Rom. 13:1–2).

Hawley, in a feet of mental gymnastics that doesn’t quite parallel the gymnastic skills of a 6-year old doing her first cartwheel, turns it all around. He claims, “Should the authorities break the terms of God’s “delegation of governance” and assault the people’s freedoms, then the people had a right to defend themselves, even to rebel.” This is nearly exactly the opposite of what Paul said.

By his reasoning (and I use that term loosely), God gave Biden authority because “there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Yet he says the people should rebel - his word mind you - against Biden because he is somehow breaking the terms of that granted authority. Terms that are not specified anywhere in the Bible. Yet the Bible says that if the people resist the government, they will incur the judgement of God.
