    I think the oil they’re deep fried in takes the place of the butter. As for sour cream, I’m not a fan in general so I couldn’t tell you.

        We’re used to white vinegar up here. First time I asked for vinegar in the US and got this malt thingy I was very disappointed lol

          White vinegar on fries??? I don’t know why but that sounds horrible lol I mostly use white vinegar for cleaning

            It’s good, both are available with fish and chips here. Malt vinegar is definitely superior though.
