… or as republicans say, Tuesday.
“‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says the Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens.”
— The Onion
How sad that this was neither shocking nor surprising and got absolutely no emotional response from me when I read the headline.
This isn’t even the first incident this week. There is a rash of teen gun violence lately in the Seattle area. https://myeverettnews.com/2024/06/27/three-suspects-arrested-in-everett-after-teen-murder-in-seattle/
Same outlet has a better, less typo ridden article on the lynnwood murder too:
https://myeverettnews.com/2024/07/03/teenage-girl-shot-at-alderwood-mall/
Alderwood Mall? That’s the nicer one! If it were the Everett Mall, I’d be unsurprised, but Alderwood? That’s wild.
You mix teenagers and guns and it doesn’t really matter how nice the mall is.
As the parent of a teenager, I know exactly how moody they can get and how quickly their moods can change from happy to “I will fucking kill a motherfucker.” I wouldn’t give a teenager a gun in a million years.
But only a good teenager with a gun can stop a bad teenager with a gun.
The KFC needs a machinegun nest, and Dunkin should keep some landmines in those donut trays.
But would you give 1 million teenagers to one gun for a year?
Ask Putin
I thought it was going to be Tacoma for sure.
The ONLY ONLY ONLY way for this to have been Prevented was if SHE Killed the Gunman FIRST! And the ONLY ONLY ONLY way for HIM to prevent his own death was if he killed HER FIRST! So as a Pro Life Save The Children Republican I see NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER with this!
Why do they have a statement from the investment firms’s pr department? What does that add to the story? Wgaf what their thoughts are on the matter? It’s really strange.
I’ve been to this place, ages ago. It was the kind of place you would bring a baby to without a second thought. Crazy that it’s come to this.
What’s crazy is someone saying “It’s somewhere you’d bring a baby to without a second thought” about a fucking shopping mall
I’m not going to argue with you - living as we are car-free now in a walkable city it’s unthinkable for me. But when I was in America, with a car and a baby, it made perfect sense. There were fewer viable third spaces (aside from parks, which is harder for an infant on a rainy day), and just about every viable third space (where we were) was built around car infrastructure.
All that to say you’re not quite wrong, but there’s nuance and the solutions are necessarily political.
I think they meant it’s sad we’re question the safety at all? Vs picking on you for going to a mall
I’m only from big cities. I love malls and parking lots as much as woods and mountains.
Nice of you to stand up for me and then casually say the craziest thing I’ve heard all week. Now how’s that supposed to make me feel?
What was crazy? Wanting to escape civilization, and wanting to be a basic bitch, without mutual exclusivity?
You do you. Malls turn my brain into used coffee grounds, and parking lots are an affront to Thoreau’s god.
Hehehe I hear you. Took drivers ed in Manhattan and 30 years of 3 to 4 hrs of public transit. Honda at a mall is like rolling coal for me and I’m relishing it lol
Edit: TBH as much as I’m being cute, malls don’t make me hate my life as much now that they’re empty
I used to go to this mall frequently. It is absolutely not the kind of mall where this regularly happens. Lynnwood is just suburbia. This ain’t Everett mall.
Even Everett mall is nice, I’m really surprised to be reading about this.
What a shameful waste of a beautiful life for that young girl.
gUnS dOn’T kIlL pEoPlE, pEoPlE kIlL pEoPlE…
Maybe we need the right to bear people.
I am already more deadly than a bear according to this site.
Only if they are convicted first, not everyone can own people these days
Shhhh, you’re supposed to say “incarcerated individuals leased to public and private companies”
Student athletes!
