iirc nitrogen is the best gas for this, as your body doesn’t realize it’s not getting Oxygen and you just kinda fall asleep and stop existing. or maybe I’m thinking it backwards idfk.
obvs don’t test it.
Afaik, your body doesn’t feel a lack of oxygen, it feels the buildup of carbon dioxide, so any inert gas should do the trick. That said, I’ve avoided doing research into it for obvious reasons. Also, if someone interrupts me, then at least there’s some comic relief to lighten the mood when I start apologizing and crying in a chipmunk voice
What prevents you from taking off the mask before death and having brain damage? That’s what I would worry about.
A Concentration of CO of 1.3% make you unconscious in 3 breaths and kill you in 5 seconds. Tho, at lower percentages it’s not as quick nor painless.
CO related deaths are high in my country, so I got curious. It’s almost certain that most of these people probably had the slow and painful CO death.
