Let me get this straight. Jack Dorsey is:
- not on the Bluesky board,
- no longer the owner of a Bluesky account, and
- heavily posting on Twitter.
Did Elon make him some kind of offer?
I can understand him bailing on Bluesky if he wants to focus on billionaire “philanthropy” or he’s just fucking tired of working (wouldn’t you be?) but it doesn’t explain the Twitter presence.
Or, he’s an attention seeking douchebag and Twitter is still where the eyeballs are.
No, that can’t possibly be it!
He’s also apparently putting a significant amount of money into Nostr.
I think his big problem is with the audience Bluesky attracted, to be honest. It seems like exactly the opposite of what a techno-jerkoff like him wants to see.
What audience is it?
I’ve been running scripts to migrate my Twitter follows to Bluesky, and the people who it actually found there are mostly artists, queer shitposters, and leftist activists - all precisely the types of people that guys like Dorsey hate.
Well that’s the strongest argument for making a Bluesky account that I’ve heard
Give it a try. I really wanted Mastodon to be the next thing to replace Twitter (mostly because it isn’t, and can never be, controlled by techbros), but I’ve mostly found Bluesky to be the more fun place. And now that Dorsey’s officially out, I don’t have to feel as guilty about that.
It’s pretty cool. There’s enough public figures there and funny people to make it an interesting vibe. There’s seemingly no conservatives either, it’s a LOT of furry art though.
In other words, the kind of people who don’t worship techbros like gods.
He still has a huge ownership stake in Twitter doesn’t he?

Bluesky probably turfed him and he’s looking for a new job is my guess, so sucking up to Elon is the best way to go about it.
He made the announcement…on Twitter?
Yes, he doesn’t even have a Bluesky account. I think all the furries scare him off.
