I had to install the Microsoft packages when prompted and set proton package to experimental then it launched!

      They updated to Unreal Engine 5 this time, and according to the comments it runs way worse, but who knows what settings they have active.

          The patch notes mentions all that new, fancy UE5 tech, so it’s no wonder it’s running worse. I don’t know if it’s looking better at the same time though, so you might be able to turn down some settings, and not lose as much performance.

          Also, it’s the experimental branch, so it’s likely they’ll fix bugs and improve performance somewhat.

          I haven’t played in a while, maybe once it gets released to the stable branch and mods are updated I might give it a shot.

            Oh yeha definitely, I just find it funny it somehow got worse seeing as it was the one game that made me genuinely worry my deck was getting too hot even on the lowest settings!

      Performance is terrible even on Windows. I’ve tried with a 3090 and a Radeon 5700. I can’t recommend moving to update 8 until they optimize the performance.
