“The Maze Runner” franchise is getting a reboot from the film trilogy’s original producers and a new writer.
This feels unnecessary.
Has the final movie even come out yet? I remember watching the first and second but I thought there was supposed to be a third still on the way?

This strategy has its losses too. The Marvels (-$237m), Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (-$143m), and Haunted Mansion (-$117m) all lost them money last year.
Is that real losses or. Hollywood losses lol
Fair call, combined they report $1.2b in expenses so I’m sure a fair bit got soaked up by Disney subsidiaries and partners.

Seems like a way to avoid paying the original crew residuals and/or royalties
The new film would not be a sequel or a remake, but a “continuation,” with presumably new characters trying to escape from the walled complex known as the Glade.
If its based on the Maze Runner world but not actually a story from one of the books they probably pay the author a bit less too.
There shouldn’t be any residuals.
If there is someone out there still consuming this media in a way that generates revenue for the studio giving them reason to believe there is a market for even more Maze Runner content, they should be charged with crimes against humanity.
Misread that as Kite Runner and was really confused by Disney’s new direction.
