    I feel like an outlier here, but this doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve been linking accounts across platform for probably decades. Maybe I would find it slightly annoying if I only had a PC account.

      There are a lot of complaints about this, but the two most legitimate ones are:

      • PSN accounts are not available in every region that Steam allowed Helldivers 2 to be sold in, so some people are going to lose access to a game they’ve paid for and have been playing for months
      • Sony has a bad track record with protecting users’ data, and many people do not want to give Sony more access to their PII

        Yea and that first one should be enough to require Sony to issue refunds to those impacted. The second is personal choice and opinion I guess, if you worry about those things then this is a problem.

      I hate it because it was a bait and switch. I didn’t have to and now they’ve altered the deal after I’m wayyyyyyyyyyyyy past the refund period. If it wasn’t gonna be optional, don’t let me play in the first place.

    This seems to be almost all Sony’s doing, why do devs even need publishers? Is it a financing thing, cause publishers are usually ones fucking up stuff.

      It’s exactly a money thing.

      Publishers are usually responsible for all the shit people get angry about, but they’re also footing the bill to build the thing years ahead of time.
