supermarkets often buy from suppliers who themselves are just middlemen. but regardless, all of those people are agents with free will, so no one else can be said to be resposible for their actions except the person who is doing teh action.

You’re just grasping at straws. Capitalism obviously sucks at self-regualtion and voting with your dollar to the fullest extent you can is important. Paying for a distrubution that pays for a hitman / breeder is no different than paying for a hitman / breeder. Buying meat isn’t necesary, you can buy non-animal based products and the supplier wont pay for more animals to be bred and killed. Even if you don’t push the supplier over the threshold of a purchase, its gambling eachtime till you shoot the bullet.

You pretending that your lifetime commitment of supporting an animal abuse industry doesn’t lead to blood shed is patronozing lol. You can make your own hoops and pretend they don’t lead to suffering but they do. You are responsible for their deaths if you pay for them. Stop making excuses to hurt more animals

I do when it’s violating another being’s atonomy who can suffer lol. You’re the aggressor in the scenario. I am doing the baseline, you’re voting for death

Not voting Supporting buisness practices by paying for them is voting to keep those practices in buianess

capacity to suffer Because if I were to hurt you, you wouldn’t like it. I respect your autonomy and believe it’s wrong to hurt you unless I absolutely had to to defend myself. We don’t need to hurt animals, we should love and care for them. Most people feel the same about dogs without advocating for their wellbeing, it shouldn’t stop at dogs.

but nothing is immoral about eating meat or dairy or eggs or honey It encourages the commodification of animals. unless you’re dumpater diving there will always be harm to some degree aquiring animal products Meat is never painless, animals wait in a line and hear their fate up ahead at a slaughter house. Bolt guns don’t work properly and can worsen the situation. Breeding requiring AI (artifical semination) which is a violation of their sexual autonomy and outright disgusting that humans do that. Most never see daylight till the roadtrip to the slaughter house, without food or water. Honey encourages gassing, mailing queens without food or water for days, destruction to local bee populations, and malnurishment by replacing their honey with sugar water. Male egg laying hens get macerated alive at hatch. Eggs cause chickens to be extrmely malnourished. They produce vastly more eggs than they should and often end up with little to no calcium. They will eat their eggs to regain the nutrients if they can.

any meat I get comes from an animal that’s long dead. my consumption can’t possibly harm it any more, and it can’t causally lead to any other animal beings harmed.

I’m not responsible for what other people choose to do, and there is nothing immoral about buying culturally appropriate foods.

You can have culturally appropriate foods without killing. Vegans exist everywhere in the world. Culture doesn’t make things that are wrong, right. Genital mutilation and misogyny are wrong, even if they’re apart of someones culture.
