minus-square@ZorsithlinkEnglish6•3 months agoSadly I think the original poem has always been a lie. We’ve historically treated all immigrants like a subhuman species; black people, the Irish, and jews, in particular. (Antisemitism being frowned upon is a relatively new thing)
