      You may jest, but pet food companies know it’s not just about what a cat wants, but what is also appealing to the owner. Plus, companies know pet owners will spend more if they feel like they’re spoiling their beloved companion; mouse fricassee doesn’t have the same connontation.

        I remember reading an article about (I think) one of the pandas at a German zoo getting a birthday cake for its 20-something birthday, and yes they had to explain to visitors that the cake is made of fruit, potatoes and bamboo – food that pandas like to eat.

      Florida would probably be thrilled if a pet food company showed up in South Florida and started trapping and making cat food out of the invasive iguanas.
