You have to use the target’s real name. This is why Light couldn’t just kill “L”, being known only by a pseudonym kept him safe.
Per the rules as written I’m going to say no. A person would have to go by a written name at the very least.
Has to be their real name. In the case of those who had their names legally changed that’s something I’m not sure if the rules addressed.
