I saw a recent comment from someone who said something along the lines of claiming that gatekeeping or transemedicalism was okay if a lot of people believed it. This is not the case. Transmedicalism and gatekeeping are evil and go against the spirit of the community.

More people doing it doesn’t mean it’s valid or justified, it represents a threat to the community, same way the rise in transphobia in recent years doesn’t justify it but represents a threat to us and the community.

Don’t stick up or try to justify transmedicalism, it’s never justified.

      Yeah I get that, thankfully I control the most popular handles that they’d use should they want to come onto this instance, and @robota@lemmy.blahaj.zone controls a few others, I handed off control to Robota since I didn’t want to be seen as a community squatter, even though it is for a good cause, and they’re a bot so they won’t mind.
