As a trans person, I kinda don’t give a fuck. There’s so much going on at the national level, I don’t need them to devote speaking time to it. So long as I can continue to count on them when it matters, of course.
I agree, when a speaker say “Freedom to be allowed to be who you are.” I clearly understand that as including transgender. Actually I hear that as specifically including transgender, because there is no other group where that is more pronounced.
Luckily democrats have moved in the right direction on these issues for the past few years, but unfortunately republicans have not.
You won’t be able to count on them, and that’s a part of the problem. They will only come calling when they need something and then they’ll just as easily toss you to the curb as they all have all other marginalized throughout history.
