When I want to try something, completely shielded from my main browser, I use Falkon.
It’s a tiny open source browser, based on QtWebEngine, and it works surprisingly well IMO, but it’s not a powerhouse like Firefox or Chrome.

But as far as I can tell, this is a total non issue:
A couple of months ago I read that they make about 100 tanks per month.
But that number may have included the restored ones from storage, and that number is declining. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s about half now.
For sure they’ve been eating through their capacity fast for the past week, losing 124 tanks in 7 days! (counting backwards from today 15+16+16+22+21+20+14)
That’s probably way more than a months supply in just a week.

That the numbers are being verified is a normal military jargon, because war is chaos, and the influx of information is constant.
The numbers are verified for instance by flyovers, all military in the world do this!! These numbers are verified constantly, and what we get is a “snapshot” every day.
For a period of almost a year, the numbers in English were ONLY available on the OFFICIAL facebook and telegram page for the armed forces. While the ministry of defense only posted the numbers in Ukrainian and without the graphics.

They write the information is being confirmed, and it’s a translation problem. That means it’s being updated.
It’s 100% normal military procedure, to confirm/update any incoming information as new information arrives.

So for a period Facebook and Telegram were actually the only places to get them!
Many do this on Facebook or Xitter, Harris confirmed her run for the presidency on Xitter!!! Are you claiming her announcement to run wasn’t official?
This is no different. I don’t like it either, because those sites are inherently not secure, but that’s the world we live in.

They have been shown by many agencies to be credible, Both the British ministry of defense and Pentagon have posted numbers on occasion that are not far off.

I don’t think this is really a problem. it allows sites to get some data about their advertising, without users giving up anything personal.
The setting can be disabled, but if you do that, you rely on normal cookie policy, so unless you have disabled cookies for the site, in which case many sites don’t work, you will probably be giving up way more data than with the setting on.
If you want to disable it go to “settings” -> “Privacy and security” -> and scroll down until you find: “Website Advertising Preferences” -> Disable the toggle.
I don’t see anything nefarious about this, as far as I can tell, it’s a measure to protect users without breaking functionality of a site.
