In German, slipper is Hausschuhe, literally “home-shoes”. I have two pairs of shoes, one for the exterior of the house, and one (my slippers) for the interior of the house, because my exterior-shoes are dirty with exterior-things, when my home-shoes stay clean. Cleanliness is the only reason I have slippers.
My favorite example is when I talk about medieval hygiene and someone replies: “but yes, they were dirty in the Middle Ages, look at the French king Louis XIV for example, he never took a bath willingly for his all life”. And then I look at them with a look that is both dejected and tired and I wait to see if they understands on their own.
Yeah, add division between whose who fight these reforms. That’s exactly what the people in America needs.
Thank you.
I’m not Canadian so I may miss something important, but for me the problem (and it’s the same in my country) is not that he has 2000$ shoes (if they are the same shoes indeed); it’s that he stages his belonging to the people, and that these shoes show the artificial nature of this staging.
Yes, but:
Why not simply Debian + LXDE + flathub?
What would Jesus do?
I like Ehrman. I think Jesus had, before the Resurrection, no clear idea of who/what he was and that what Ehrman shows is how the early church not invented but discovered the divinity of Jesus.
Calvin was totally opposed to this kind of theology. I presume you’re referencing to Weber; but if you read The Protestant Ethic closely, he didn’t speak about mainstream Calvinism of his time, but German puritanism, which was opposed by mainstream Calvinism.
There are many possible points of disagreement within Christianity because, like it or not, the Bible is unclear and even contradicts itself on many subjects (and this is a Christian saying this). But prosperity theology is so clearly the opposite of everything in the Bible that any self-respecting evangelical should ostracize it. That they don’t is the proof that the gospel is not what many evangelicals are interested in.
Il y avait !parentalite@jlai.lu. La décision ne m’appartient à moi seul, mais j’imagine que si le !forumlibre@jlai.lu se remplit de posts sur le sujet, alors la question de la réouverture se posera.
I know how it is, it was a joke :-). But it’s a good illustration of how these site made themselves necessary.
Fuck.
No seriously, how accurate is this thing? Is it possible to have the whole bingo and not have ADHD?
Arise, arise, Riders of Zloubida! Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter! Spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now, ride now! Ride to Britain!
