Fyi for anyone afraid to change their own oil for fear of dumping it all on the driveway, just look up a (Canadian manufactured) “oil transfer pump” (manual or electric) and ensure the tube it comes with will fit and reach down to the bottom of your oil tank through the dipstick. Then pump it out into a container. Afterwards you can take the bolt out and get anything that may be left, in my experience a drop or two. Also saves me from having to jack up my car to fit the tub under, I can use a shallower pan.

This is such a sad picture. Imagine the life that tree could have facilitated and harbored over its lifetime. We should all be replanting natives as fast as we possibly can.

Also classic astroturfing is complaining about astroturfing. Fact is you never know who posts a comment. But mostly, I agree with your sentiment here.

Update: my hand hurts now, but in fact it is possible to lay down a pinky, then snap three times successively with ring, middle, then index, which makes three different snaps (descending in pitch).

I gotta say, surprised everyone is attributing the “snap” sound to hitting the pad of your thumb.

All y’all veteran snappers, try this. Lift up your pinky, then snap. Makes a much higher pitched snap. Now lift up your ring finger, then snap. No snap at all. Your pinky and ring finger make a sort of tube, and your thumb is striking one end of it (the crevice between thumb pad and ring finger tip) to make a tone. I’m even able to smack that spot with a finger on the OTHER hand and make a (quieter) snap.

One of the laws, AB 2602, protects artists from being bound to contracts that allow the use of their digital voices or images, whether in lieu of their actual work or to train AI.

The other law, AB 1836, specifically protects digital likenesses as part of performers’ posthumous right of publicity, a legal right that protects people’s identities from unauthorized commercial use.

Good for them, seems necessary. Nothing to protect regular people, of course.
