It’s still around, sometimes joining a 99 game can take a few minutes (the longest I’ve waited has been like 2, if that)! Some issues dropping connection but it’s very rare.
Yeah I’m still working through the shrine levels, Hyrule will be fine until I get to it. And same, the art style for Morgana and plot really drew me to it so I’m excited.

Probably Tetris 99 (my go to “I just want to zone out and play” game), and I might pick TotK back up (I’m really early in the game). I bought The House in Fata Morgana last month and haven’t started it yet, so I’ve got that for an option too.
I learned how to knit socks with Silver’s sock class and usually stick to the “one sock on 4 needles” tutorial, but with a shorter cuff. I might retry the toe up on a circular needle pattern but it’s easier for me to troubleshoot working on DPNs. “4 needles” also works for scrap socks- I just have to track the cuff and heel work in whatever solid I’m using and then do 4 rounds of whatever scrap I’m using. Still learning not to knot the joins together but they’ll be small and I can sew them in well enough.
I’ve also got Wildflower and Honeycombs but I haven’t tried that yet. For a boss fight I’ve got Socks for Ransom bookmarked.
Yeah just go slowly with it and it should work out! And lol that’s a mood. It’s not hoarding if I keep telling myself I’ll use the leftovers for a blanket.
The repair method you’re asking about is called darning! If you’ve got yarn leftover (or even just yarn in the same weight class), you can patch the holes without needing to take the socks apart. This article explains how to do it and you can get darning eggs on Etsy but I’ve also seen tennis balls recommended. Anything that you can use to hold the sock like it’s being worn while you’re working will do it. Sock darning tutorial’s over here.
If/when the heel wears out, you can also replace it with an afterthought heel I use this method once in a while for different colored heels instead of doing a heel flap/gusset. You can also use this for different colored toes and repairing them as they wear out. How to do an afterthought heel For doing both of these, I’d recommend putting in a life line on the row of stitches below what you’re removing to hold the rest of the sock while you work. (Any contrasting sock yarn or thin nylon cord would work fine for this).
