This is why governments need to get involved legislationing profits from AI work. Shareholders can’t be the beneficiary of lower costs from AI when it means workers lose their jobs. There needs to be an AI specific tax, to support people losing their livelihoods.
Saddam wanting to trade oil in other currencies was at least a part in the build up to the invasion of Iraq. The Petrodollar is still a large part of the US’s financial strategy.
John Bierce’s Mage Errant is another highly regarded ProgFantasy series - that has recently published its last book in the ‘initial series’. I fully expect other works in the same setting though.
Personally I’m also a big fan of Sarah Lin’s work in general specifically Street Cultivation and Weirkey Chronicles.
Tao Wong is another very prolific writer in this space - his non LitRPG series, and IMO his best work is the series A Thousand Li - which is a more traditional Chinese Cultivation setting - but without being a Translated Novel. Some ProgFantasy fans find the Progression in this slow.
We have a very right wing cabinet, mainly due to everybody else getting kicked out/ resigning. They are very likely to get kicked out themselves next year, but due to the fixed term parliament law they are basically untouchable until then, so they are getting as much shit done as they can before they get replaced.
