Happy for steph but, man. This game made me so stoked for the rest of Wembys career. Good stretches where he looked like the best player on the court and hes only 20. Clinton’s are called “third way democrats” designed to win back some “Reagan democrats”. Economic policies that are very similar to conservatives while relying on social justice issues for their legitimacy among the base fron the left. That left literally zero benefit and minimal consideration for working class and rural whites. It’s also why I love the pick of Walz, he speaks to this voting bloc very effectively and the way Kamala is handling the campaign, specifically shutting down the “lock him up” chants makes me think that dems are on this wavelength also.
The case that needs to be made is something I’ve best heard described by MLK (I’ve also heard Bernie echo the same term) as “Economic Justice”. Which is basically Marxist class theories and the money aspect of “all of God’s children, being free at last.” regardless of race. Being able to judo the “out of touch liberal elites” developed under the concept of Clinton democrats into “out of touch billionaire weirdos” of Trump, Vance and Musk is something the DNC should really focus on. Easier said than done though, those weirdos have infinite firehoses of infinite bullshit.
An important historical context for this I would like to add as well. There’s a chance I may be wrong about the specifics but this is my best understanding of it.
When this concept was developed during the constitutional convention. They wanted to protect “states rights”, which has always been a soft language for slavery. The Electoral College is in the same section of the constitution as the 3/5ths compromise, which said that slaves count as 3/5th of a person when being counted as population to have representatives/Electoral college votes.
So modern Republicans are benefiting and have more power than the general population actually voted for, based on a structure used to protect the institution of slavery. This is a key example of “institutional racism(*edit)” and helps me understand the obsession with things like critical race theory. Because understanding the structure, delegitmizes the power Republicans hold. The most obvious example to me right now is the Supreme Court. A mixture between the consequences of institutional racism and modern GOP political rat fuckery is doing so much harm to America.

IDK contracts off the top of my head but I think okc makes a trade for Jerami Grant. Great plug in do it all veteran wing will eleavate that roster quite a bit. More young talent and good picks than roster spots and Blazers need to load up for what will prob be a long rebuild. The needs match up so well. According to an NBC report I saw on this, Trumps legal team requested a delay and the DA didn’t reply to the request. That kind of tied the judges hands and this (non)action is the norm for this situation. A break from the norm would help trump on appeal.
