Otter@lemmy.cato No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it normal for people to ask where you are from online?English2·2 days agoNo problem, I’ve seen it happen a few times so I thought I’d ask 😄
The text has an AI vibe to it, I can’t find the words for what tips me off when I see it
Otter@lemmy.cato No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it normal for people to ask where you are from online?English8·2 days agoAnyone can label themself as a bot in the Lemmy user settings, sometimes users do so mistakenly
Otter@lemmy.cato No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it normal for people to ask where you are from online?English10·2 days agoYour comments are tagged as being from a bot, was that intentional for this joke lol
Otter@lemmy.cato Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Best tool for creating a basic business websiteEnglish3·3 days agoI think you want a static site generator
We use Vitepress for https://fedecan.ca/en/
https://vitepress.dev/guide/getting-started
If you want to selfhost it, there is https://www.coolify.io/ , but imo you want something like GitHub pages/ Netlify since it’s for your business
What kind of fediverse features did you want for the website? You might be better off making accounts on fediverse platforms and linking to the website

I also see mentions of Ryot, Yamtrak, Simkl, Jellystat
Thank you :) Looks good from my end
Otter@lemmy.caOPto Technology@lemmy.world•Trakt to increase prices to $60 for all users, including those on legacy, promotional, and grandfathered pricingEnglish14·3 days agoA 2x price increase (or more for people who are on discounted or grandfathered plans) will likely get people to reevaluate if they really need the service. Based on the comments so far, it looks like a lot of people already have dropped it
It looks like your comment was posted a few times, maybe the app you’re using had an error?
edit: Since more people are reporting it, I’m going to remove the extras. It will only affect lemmy.ca users until either the mods of this community, or you delete the extras from your end
Otter@lemmy.caOPto Technology@lemmy.world•Trakt to increase prices to $60 for all users, including those on legacy, promotional, and grandfathered pricingEnglish9·3 days agoThis comment gives a good summary, but in short it lets you track what movies and shows you’ve watched / want to watch
Otter@lemmy.caOPto Technology@lemmy.world•Trakt to increase prices to $60 for all users, including those on legacy, promotional, and grandfathered pricingEnglish11·4 days agoIt tracks watch history and allows you to build lists, in a way that should integrate with other services. How well it does that is questionable
Some people might still be using it out of habit or loyalty, but a $30 price jump might change that
Otter@lemmy.cato Boost For Lemmy@lemmy.world•Feature Suggestion: Distribute Boost App on Third-Party App StoresEnglish8·4 days agoF-droid is open source, and it only lists open source apps
Boost is closed source and can’t be listed there
Otter@lemmy.cato Women's Hockey / PWHL@reddthat.com•Lee Stecklein snipes in the Frost’s third goal in the first period 🤩English3·4 days agoI love seeing these posts. Would you consider cross posting new posts to larger communities such as !hockey@lemmy.ca, and then linking back to here in the comments? It might help more people learn about this community

I’d watch a movie with that premise 😄

Otter@lemmy.cato Boost For Lemmy@lemmy.world•Crash when downloading/sharing images on BoostEnglish2·5 days agoNo problem! :)
Otter@lemmy.cato Superbowl@lemmy.world•Spacious, with an open floor plan and cathedral ceilingsEnglish9·5 days agoTotally! I also remember reading about something similar:
Differences in position and shape of burrow openings of black-tailed prairie dogs create passive ventilation from wind energy by altering air pressure.
https://asknature.org/strategy/asymmetric-burrow-openings-create-passive-ventilation/
Otter@lemmy.cato Boost For Lemmy@lemmy.world•Crash when downloading/sharing images on BoostEnglish2·5 days agoThanks!
I can confirm that the problem is instance specific. I was able to share both images on this account, but I had issues sharing the second image with a lemmy.ml account.
The first image has the URL
https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/b934b4ac-8e4b-4bde-a619-a70b819233ad.webp
, while the second (error) had the URLhttps://lemmy.ml/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Flemmy.world%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2Fcc5ef910-356c-4250-9be8-ec50b5a910a4.webp
I think this would be a bug for the Boost developer to solve, and hopefully your two examples will be helpful for that :)

This was a UI bug a while back, and it might still be present in cases like account imports. Maybe someone can make a bug report / GitHub issue about it
There is no other method from what I can tell. Until it’s fixed, I guess someone can write a script that does the same action to quickly go through your list and fix it
